Red Fork's Blair 1-24H Well Yields Encouraging Initial O&G Flow

change text size

U.S.-based Red Fork Energy said Friday that early production testing at its Blair 1-24H well has yielded "encouraging" oil and gas flow rates.

During the second half of a 48-hour well test, it flowed as much as 20 barrels of oil per hour with 240,000 cubic feet of gas during intermittent flow through the casing.

Red Fork added that only a small amount of reservoir stimulation water has been recovered from the well and that the fluid levels in the wellbore remained very high.

Production testing is continuing as the well cleans up and rates have not yet stabilized.

"We are very encouraged by these results which have been achieved very early in the production testing of this well. These results provide us with a high level of confidence about the potential outcomes for the testing of this and the other wells we have drilled and are drilling in Development Area 2 and for our acreage position in the Eastern Limb of the Mississippian Play generally," Red Fork Managing Director David Prentice said in a press statement.

Red Fork has sold its first load of oil from the well to Conoco Phillips' refining arm Phillips66.

The well is sited in Noble County and it is being developed under Red Fork's "Development Area 2" project. The project is supporting 16 wells, Red Fork said in an investor presentation released in April this year.
