Reuters: Judge Denies BP Access to White House Emails on Oil Spill

Deepwater Horizon Gulf of Mexico Oil Spill

A U.S. federal judge ruled against BP Plc's bid to gain access to 21 emails and other documents sent by the White House and other officials related to the 2010 Gulf of Mexico oil spill, Reuters reported Monday.

The federal government's need to keep the documents confidential and the public interest in ensuring an effective response to the next disaster outweighed BP's need for the documents to defend itself in litigation, Judge Sally Shushan said in New Orleans, according to Reuters.

Company spokesman Scott Dean declined to comment, according to the report.

Sounds like one unelected branch of the government is ruling that another branch of the government can conceal exculpatory evidence! No wonder more Americans than ever before now put our 2nd Amendment FIRST!!
