BP PLC hopes to pay less than $15 billion to settle all penalties with the Department of Justice over the massive oil spill in the Gulf of Mexico two years ago, the Financial Times reported Friday, citing a person familiar with the discussions. The disaster spells not only material loss to the company but to the
ecology as well. but then justice should be done which would serve
as a eyeopener for other concerns engaged in mining activities.
