Norwegian FPSO operator BW Offshore announced Wednesday that its FPSO vessel BW Joko Tole has received its first gas from the Terang Sirasun Batur (TSB) field, offshore Indonesia.
The FPSO (Floating, Production, Storage and Offloading) project is the company's first to be completely run out of its Singapore operation.
BW Offshore has had a 10-year contract in place with the Kangean Energy Indonesia (KEI) consortium relating to the TSB field since June 2011. This contract can also be extended for a period of up to four years.
This is BW Offshore's first FPSO contract in Indonesia. The firm owns 14 FPSO vessels, which it operates around the world.
The BW Joko Tole FPSO arrived on location offshore in April after having been converted at Sembawang Shipyard in Singapore.
The KEI consortium is made up of Indonesia's Energi Mega Persada, Mitsubishi Corporation and Japan Petroleum Exploration. Energi Mega Persada holds a 50-percent working interest, while Mitsubishi and Japan Petroleum Exploration each hold a 25-percent working interest.
