Jimmie Stoute has been named President of survey company John Chance Land Surveys, Inc. (Chance). The company provides land survey services to the oil and gas industry and governmental agencies.
Headquartered in Lafayette, LA, Chance is a member of the international Fugro group of companies.
Stoute joined Fugro (originally John E. Chance & Associates) over 30 years ago. He has been instrumental in the success of developing the company's navigation and positioning services as well as initiating its Quality Improvement Program.
Stoute is a graduate of T.H. Harris Vocational Technical School in Industrial Electronics Technology as well as Louisiana State University Executive Education Program.
Under Stoute's leadership, Chance currently has 160 employees and has expanded into other regions by opening offices in Natchitoches, LA; San Antonio, TX; and Atlasburg, PN. As a pioneer in commercial satellite positioning, Chance has expanded its services to include underwater acoustic imaging, regulatory and permitting services, as well as surveying and mapping.
