Norwegian Oil and Gas Production Down in April

The Norwegian Petroleum Directorate has announced figures for oil and gas production for April 2012. On Wednesday, the NPD said that preliminary production figures for April 2012 indicate an average daily production of about 2,030,000 barrels of oil, NGL and condensate. This is 11,000 barrels less than for March 2012.
Total gas sales were about 9.4 billion standard cubic meters, which is 1.6 billion cubic meters less than the previous month.
The average daily liquid production in April was: 1,633,000 barrels of oil, 310,000 barrels of NGL and 87,000 barrels of condensate.
The total oil production is above the NPD's forecast for April. The following fields have produced well above the prognosis: Ekofisk, Gjøa, Grane, Kvitebjørn, Morvin and Volund.
In April, the Gaupe, Marulk, Islay and Oselvar fields started production on the Norwegian Shelf.
The total petroleum production for the first four months of 2012 is about 82.1 million cubic meters of oil equivalent (MSm3 o.e.), broken down as follows:
The total volume is 3.7 MSm3 o.e. greater than for the equivalent period in 2011.
Final production figures for March 2012 show an average daily production of about 1.613 million barrels of oil, 0.428 million barrels of NGL and condensate, and a total of 11.0 billion Sm3 saleable gas production.
Preliminary production figures for May will be published in June 2012.
