September Summit to Focus on Africa's O&G Issues
On Sept. 25-27, 2012, leading executives from the world's foremost oil and gas companies will gather at the La Palm Royal Beach Hotel, Accra, Ghana, to discuss the most pressing issues in the African mining industry today. The event is the 6th NG Oil and Gas Summit, one of the most hotly anticipated dates in the African oil and gas calendar this year.
The summit combines high-level roundtable discussions with next generation technology solutions that have been specifically tailored to address key topics in the African oil and gas industry, including exploration initiatives in Sub Saharan Africa, drilling and data management, through to disruptive and emerging technologies, and IT and communication solutions.
In attendance will be a selection of some of the industry's most prominent thought leaders who will be contributing to the direction of the summit through topic-specific panel discussions. One such panel comprises William T. Drennen III, CEO Vanco Exploration; Alastair Milne, VP Exploration Sub-Saharan Africa Shell; Jay Thorseth, VP E&P BP Angola; and Adrian Robinson, Exploration Director for African Petroleum.
William has recently become CEO of Vanco Exploration and is currently concentrating on expanding Vanco's interest in Africa. He has extensive global experience in the exploration field, and was previously SVP Exploration and New Ventures at Hess. He believes that the NG O&G summit will provide a unique platform from which to share best practices and generate key working relationships with peers. In his own words: "I am looking forward to the panel at the NG Oil and Gas summit. The summit in Ghana is the perfect place to do business."
The summits provide a highly productive environment for forward-thinking executives to collaborate and assess emerging trends and strategies that are proving critical to organisational effectiveness in 2012. Delegates engage in highly interactive workshops and focussed panel discussions that offer moderated, peer-led evaluations of the major oil and gas issues in the African market, whilst one-to-one meetings give delegates the chance to meet with business analysts and solution providers to discuss strategies and solutions for the year ahead.
Summit Director Ben Williams believes the exceptional content will once again place the NG O&G Summit as the definitive event in the oil and gas industry in Africa. Williams said: "I am particularly excited about the keynote panel discussion on the first day of the summit, and the attendance of such a distinguished delegation. There will also be some exciting workshops from some of the largest service companies in the world, such as Tenaris, Capstone and NXT Energy Services, as well as a presence from Nalco, Expro Group, Oceaneering and Intel Logistics."
Rees continued – "We have high level executives attending from major operators such as BP, Total, African Petroleum, Vanco Exploration, Angola's NOC Sonangol and Shell, as well as Africa's most exciting operator – Tullow Oil – who will be discussing their operations in the Jubilee Field offshore Ghana, onshore Uganda and also offshore Kenya."
