|Friday, February 20, 2004
Consafe will perform all project aspects of the contract in its Aberdeen office including the detailed engineering and selected procurement for the modular buildings. In conjunction with Consafe's own facilities, final assembly and commissioning will be performed at Dundee port prior to shipping the modules to Korea where the FPSO is being built.
TSS Dalia's Project Representative, Alan Oak, stated: "We are very pleased to be working with Consafe on this project. We required a specialised European company that was complemented by facilities appropriate to carry out this significant and critical part of the FPSO scope. Consafe fulfilled this prerequisite admirably."
For Consafe, which has been providing modular buildings for the oil and gas industry for over 30 years, the 10 month contract is another major step forward in delivering total solutions to clients on a world wide basis.
Consafe Managing Director, Neil Robertson, stated: "We are delighted to have been awarded this contract from TSS Dalia which reaffirms our position as the supplier of choice on major modular contracts. The new contract is a significant step in developing our market in the strategically important West African region."
TSS Dalia is a joint venture comprising Technip, Saipem SA and Stolt Offshore SA, in a consortium with Samsung (SHI) and Daewoo (DSME).
The Dalia Field, operated by Total Angola E&P, will comprise a Subsea Production System (SPS) installed in 1200 to 1400 m water depths, tied back through Subsea Umbilical and Flow Lines / Riser System (UFL) to a Floating Production Storage and Offloading (FPSO) unit containing the process, storage and offloading facilities through a Single Point Mooring (SPM) Buoy.
Recent orders won by Consafe include the award of a 20-month contract by Technip France (SA) for the design, engineering and construction of 70 modular units for the complete topsides facilities for a 90-man Living Quarters Platform for the East Area Additional Oil Recovery development, a project within the NNPC/Mobil joint venture offshore Nigeria.
