Baker Hughes Awarded Deepwater ESP Gig at Chevron's Big Foot Proj.

Chevron granted Baker Hughes a contract to supply electrical submersible pumping (ESP) systems and production packers for seven producing wells, plus mud line packers for three injection wells for the Big Foot project.

The ESP systems will be placed at a true vertical depth of about 16,000 feet (4,877 meters). Deployment of the systems is scheduled to begin in 2014.

The Big Foot field is located in Walker Ridge block 29 in approximately 5,100 feet (1,554 meters) of water, and first oil is expected in 2014. Chevron, the operator, owns a 60% interest in the field; Statoil owns 27.5% interest; and Marubeni Oil & Gas owns the remaining 12.5% interest.
