Subsea 7 Wins Statoil Contract

Statoil granted Subsea 7 a marine installation and pipelay contract for the Fossekall-Dompap development in the Norwegian sector of the North Sea. The contract is worth nearly US $180 million.

The work scope includes transport and installation of two of four-slot integrated template structures (ITS) at the Fossekall field, and one four-slot ITS at the Dompap field. The company will also fabricate and install the 16-mile-long (25.7-kilometer-long) 12/14-inch ID insulated production pipeline with direct electrical heating piggyback cable from the Norne FPSO to Dompap and an in-line tee at Fossekall.

The scope of work also includes installation of manifolds; flexible flowlines and jumpers; flexible risers; dynamic and static umbilicals; electrical cable; DEH riser; DEH feeder cable system and tie-in and pre-commissioning of the full system. Subsea 7 will also fabricate and procure GRP Covers, a riser base, a PLET, the in-line tee and linepipe coating.

Engineering will commence immediately, with all offshore operations to be performed in 2012.

Fossekall-Dompap is a fast-track project located north of the Norne field, 124 miles (200 kilometers) west from Sandessjoen and occupies blocks 6608/10 and 6608/11 in a water depth of approximately 1,247 feet (380 meters). Statoil operates the project, holding a 63.95% interest.
