Eni Boosts Gas Estimates at Sankofa Discovery Offshore Ghana

Eni reported that the Sankofa-2 appraisal well found additional pay, significantly increasing the preliminary estimate of gas in place at the discovery.

The Sankofa-2 well, drilled in a water depth of 2,835 feet (864 meters), tested and delivered a constrained rate of about 29.5 MMcf/d of high quality gas and 1,000 boepd of 52 degree API condensate. The well confirmed the presence of 115 feet (35 meters) net gas and condensate in Cretaceous age, as well as a 20 feet (6 meter) oil leg.

Sankofa is located in the Offshore Cape Three Points license, offshore Ghana. Eni Ghana Exploration and Production Limited is the operator of the OCTP license with a 47.22% interest; Vitol Upstream Ghana Limited holds 37.78%; and Ghana National Petroleum Corporation holds 15%.
