First Sea Lion Appraisal Well Commences Drilling

Rockhopper spudded appraisal well 14/10-4 on Feb. 19, 2011. 14/10-4 is the first appraisal well drilled on the Sea Lion feature situated on Production License 032, stated the operator; and it is designed to investigate reservoir and hydrocarbon columns downdip of the Sea Lion 14/10-2 discovery well. The well should reach a targeted depth of 9,843 feet (3,000 meters) to investigate the possibility of deeper sands than those encountered in the discovery well. Exploratory drilling should take about 38 days.
