Job Description:

COMPANY:

A Houston-based engineering / energy services firm engaged in projects ranging from Petroleum & Natural Resources wells, Underground Storage & Specialty Wells, Underground Injection Well Services, and Salt Cavern Natural Gas Storage.

Our client is a total service company with respect to all types of well systems. Expertise includes wells used for disposal, underground storage, exploration, production, monitoring, injection, recharge, recovery, and in-situ mining. Qualified in the permitting, design, installation, maintenance, and closure of all types of specialty wells. (Will provide spec with more details on their services after your resume is evaluated.)

DUTIES:
  • Prepare and/or review specifications for projects, review and approve drawings, develop and maintain project budgets, prepare and negotiate contracts, and ensure materials in place for multiple projects with varying timelines.
  • Oversee project forecasts and schedules.
  • Provide direction and support for interdisciplinary project teams to successfully complete projects on time and on budget.
  • Oversee and manage third-party engineering, drilling, and support services including managing costs and negotiating discrepancies.
  • Communicate with clients to determine their requirements and meet their needs in the most efficient and cost-effective manner
  • Provide technical expertise to solve complex problems and to support project engineering teams through calculations, research, and hands-on training if necessary.
  • Oversee and maintain a project engineering environment to continually develop and refine engineering systems to achieve Company's standards. Define project management process standards, project change control, and best practices.
  • Ensure tools and engineer techniques are consistently and uniformly adhered to.
  • Collect data, perform root cause analysis, develop alternatives, prepare estimates, and propose recommendations for solutions to problems.
  • Mentor engineers through leadership, motivation, counseling, and training. Update Engineers on either new technology or improved methods. Also develop an environment where Engineers will continually keep themselves updated on "what is new" in the natural gas industry.
REQUIREMENTS:
  • Bachelor's degree in Engineering required. Professional Engineering license preferred. Master's degree a plus.
  • Minimum of 10 years experience in natural gas wells and/or underground gas storage experience, primarily salt cavern.
  • Must have experience in natural gas wells drilling, completions, and workovers. Injection wells experience a plus. CO2 disposal wells experience a plus.
  • Strong knowledge of engineering design standards and applicable state and federal natural gas industry codes and regulations including DOT Pipeline Code 49CFR191,192,193, ASME B31.3,B31.8, FERC 18CCFR1, OSHA, etc. (MUST include this information on resume)
  • Must be able to read and understand technical documents including legal contracts.
  • Ability to drive change, improve process, and constantly keep updated on new technology.
  • Ability to recognize and evaluate risks, hazards, and losses.
  • Demonstrated leadership skills with the ability to coach and mentor/guide others in the performance of their duties both in the office and field. Able to mentor others seeking Professional Engineering license.
  • Systematic and disciplined approach to performing projects.
  • Ability to define roles and responsibilities; set high expectations, and hold others accountable. Provide training to those not meeting expectations.
  • Excellent analytical, communication, and negotiation skills.
  • Very good writing skills with proven ability to write and review engineering proposals both in terms of technical information and budgetary requirements.
  • Strong computer applications skills, including PowerPoint, Excel and Word. Any AutoCAD or mapping software experience a plus.
