Safety Management Systems, a division of Acadian Companies, is seeking candidates for a HSE Coordinator to oversee occupational health and environmental safety programs for our offshore and safety division. The HSE Coordinator position is based out of Lafayette, LA, and will be responsible for anticipating, identifying, and evaluating hazardous conditions and causes of exposure and accidents to eliminate hazards and ensure a safe working environment. The coordinator will also formulate general safety policies/procedures in compliance with local, state and federal OSHA rules and regulations, and participate in investigations of injuries/accidents. This strategic-minded individual will provide leadership, education, and training to management and SMS operations on appropriate safety practices and standards.
The ideal candidate will have a minimum of 5 years of experience in the oil and gas industry with an emphasis in safety management. The candidate will have a working knowledge of all relevant federal, state, and local safety and health regulations. Bachelor's degree in related field and HSE related credentials preferred. Qualified applicants will possess a positive "can-do" attitude, effective problem solving ability, strong communication and organizational skills, and excellent computer skills with proficiency in Microsoft Office. Ability to travel is required.
