Role Description
· Under general supervision, analyzes corporate transportation and distribution methods and procedures to develop and utilize the most economically advantageous and efficient means of delivering the organization's products, based on an evaluation of freight classifications, tariff rates, and operating capabilities concurrent with delivery schedules and deadlines.
· Reports to the Regional Logistics Director
Responsibilities
Through the use of the company's freight management system (Lomas) selects assigned Freight Forwarder for export of product.
Reviews proposals by carriers and agencies for modifications of rates and transportation regulations to determine their impact.
Contacts vendors, customers, carriers, etc to coordinate any problems such as misdirected and /or damaged goods
Ensures all export documentation is accurate and complete and is meeting all trade compliance rules and regulations.
Handles special projects, as assigned.
Experience and Skills required
Bachelor's degree
1-3 years applicable logistics experience
Experience with coordinating Exports through Freight Forwarder relationship
Knowledge of transportation and distribution methods
Familiar with trade compliance regulations
Good problem solving skills
Comfortable working with computer applications such as Microsoft Excel, Word, and SAP
Good verbal and written communication skills
