SBM Atlantia is currently recruiting for a Lead Ocean Engineer / Senior Hydrodynamicist. The primary function of the Lead Ocean Engineer / Senior Hydrodynamicist is to design and analyze various floating structures with a focus on hydrodynamics, global performance (global motion), mooring design and analysis, model testing, DP, and stability for FPSOs, Semi-Submersibles, TLPs, MODU, and various floating mooring terminals. Typical projects include spread-moored or turret moored FPSO, FSO, Semi-submersible or TLP based FPU, MODU, deep water offloading buoys, various innovative deep water and shallow water mooring/riser concepts including dis-connectable mooring/riser system, and CALM/SALM terminals.
The position requires familiarity with discipline engineering principles and procedures, and the ability to apply these to the project. It also requires familiarity with National and International Codes and Standards and Classification Society Rules, as well as working knowledge of normal commercial and marine fabrication materials, procedures, and capabilities. The Lead Ocean Engineer / Senior Hydrodynamicist will support a specific project, or work as part of a Project Team, from project initiation through acceptance of the final product by the customer, including budget and schedule control. REQUIREMENTS
Qualified candidates will possess a Bachelors Degree in Engineering (Naval Architecture, Ocean, Mechanical, Civil, or Marine) with preference given to candidates having an advanced degree.
Candidates should also have 7 years of related engineering experience with FPSOs, Semi-Submersibles, TLPs, MODU, and mooring terminals.
Experience with some of the following software is required: AQWA, Orcaflex, ARIANE, WAMIT, MOSES, StabCad, and WINDOS
