Job Description:

One of the largest independent petroleum products pipeline systems in the United States is seeking to fill a SCADA Engineer within their Corporate Operations located in Breinigsville, PA. A key player in the Oil and Gas industry, the company owns and operates over 5,000 miles of pipeline, 60+ Product Terminals, and a Natural Gas Storage facility in Northern California.
Primary Purpose:
Support the planning, development, installation and maintenance of the SCADA systems and applications running Buckeye's real time pipeline operations.
Key Accountabilities:
- Investigate, analyze and correct complex SCADA systems related problems (software, hardware, network or communications).
- Modify existing computers systems to increase performance.
- Support the design of new SCADA systems, which includes installation, testing, debugging, implementation and user training.
- Support to Buckeye's Leak Detection, Batch Tracking system, RCAs and RTUS. Specifics would include installation, configurations, troubleshooting, communicating with vendors and making recommendations for improvement.
Requirements:
- Bachelor's Degree in Engineering, Computer Science or similar.
- Prior experience with real time control systems is highly desired.
- Proficiency in Microsoft SQL database, Sybase database, C++, Visual Basic, Microsoft Web development.
- Strong understanding and ability to design Information Systems that use a combination of commercial hardware, software and customer written interface software.
- Knowledge of computer systems hardware, network and communications configuration, personal computer applications, process control systems, applications and operation of computer support facilities.
- US Permanent Resident or Citizenship.
Other desired attributes:
Excellent analytical and communication skills to resolve business and operational problems.
Occasional travel to field and vendor locations is required.
