Petroleum Field Services is recruiting a highly qualified Senior Safety Specialist - EH&S for our E&P client in Louisiana. If you are looking to join an established and growing publicly traded company with excellent benefits, please read on!
Our client is recruiting a Senior Safety Specialist - EH&S for their Central offices in Louisiana with travel to Texas.
Responsibilities:
- Audit compressor stations and oil and gas production facilities for compliance with OSHA, State and Company guidelines, regulations and rules.
- To achieve exceptional Contractor Safety performance, invoke Company Contractor Safety Management Program.
- Administer EHS orientation training to contractors.
- Lead incident investigations of injuries, vehicle incidents, and environmental upsets. Determine root cause(s) and prepare appropriate corrective actions and documentation.
- Put together and roll out training and educational materials for employee safety meetings in the assigned Company field offices.
- Back business asset in accomplishment of EHS scorecard metrics.
- Analyze all Division incidents in the Company Tracker database and confirm completeness and accuracy of the data entered. Organize collection of contractor man-hours and report to Corporate.
- Collaborate with field operations and provide EHS technical support. Train both employees and contractors on behavioral safety techniques.
- Up to 50% routine travel to locations in the North Louisiana and East Texas region, Mississippi and occasionally Houston.
- Contribute office safety support through effective ergonomics program, training and awareness initiatives.
- Represent Company in industry trade associations.
- Help with due diligence on property divestiture and acquisition activities.
Qualifications:
- 5 - 10 years of EHS work experience in the O&G E&P or industrial environment demonstrating progressive execution for responsibilities described above.
- Bachelor of Science Degree required from an accredited College or University in a physical science or engineering related discipline. (Bachelor of Science in Occupational or Industrial Safety preferred.)
- Ability to travel approximately 50% of the time.
- Valid driver's license and clean driving record.
- Strong working knowledge of EPA, OSHA and state EHS regulations.
- Certified Safety Professional (CSP) credential preferred.
- Excellent computer skills and knowledge of MS Excel, Word, Access, and PowerPoint.
- Strong interpersonal skills and capable of communicating difficult issues effectively with all levels of the company.
- Demonstrated ability to work in a fast-paced environment.
- Self motivated with the ability to effectively handle multiple projects and prioritize tasks on a daily basis.
- Ability to project a strong professional image and work in a team atmosphere.
