JOB DESCRIPTION





Baker Hughes is seeking a highly motivated Drill Bit Systems Field Engineer- South Texas based in San Antonio, TX. The Drill Bit Systems Field Engineer will provide sales support and product application recommendations.





RESPONSIBILITIES





The Drill Bit Systems Field Engineer will be responsible for providing sales support and product application recommendations, investigate unusual or unsatisfactory product performance to determine root cause and preventative actions, and propose design modifications to existing products.





In addition, the Drill Bit Systems Field Engineer tracks field testing and prototype applications as well as new product introductions to market. Provides technical guidance and presentations to customers relating to product performance and new drill bit technology





SKILLS REQUIRED





This individual should have a strong knowledge in oilfield operations, rigsite operations, drilling technology, and drill bit application.  This individual should possess a high level of initiative to work independently to solve drilling problems of customers relating to drill bit design, BHA, and hydraulics optimization.  Good communication, problem solving, and teamwork skills a must for this highly dynamic environment.  Individual must be proficient in computer based programs related to application of drill bit products.





EDUCATION





University degree in Mechanical or Petroleum Engineering required.  3+ years experience preferred.  This initiative driven, problem solver should be willing to increase their knowledge base in drill bit and drilling systems applications within the oilfield industry.  The focus for this person will be predominantly within in Eagle Ford shale.
