ROV TECHNICIAN:

Job Description: Maintain, repair and operate ROV equipment for offshore projects.  

Duties & Responsibilities

  • Understand and operate within the established Company HSE/QA Policies and Operating Standards.
  • Operate ROV systems as directed by the System Supervisor/Superintendent.
  • Be familiar with all relevant task procedures, ensuring operations and data recording are carried out correctly.
  • Carry out planned maintenance and repairs on ROVs and associated equipment as required by the company, client or regulatory procedures.
  • Eliminate waste of whatever form, to suggest the use of more environmentally friendly substances and practices, and contribute to the continuous improvement of company environmental policies.

Job Requirements:

  • A minimum of two years experience of working with ROVs  
  • Proven track record in operating, maintaining and repairing Work Class ROV systems and associated Intervention Tooling  
  • Completion of a recognized Trade Apprenticeship or college education in at least one of the following areas
        
    • Electrical
    • Electronics
    • Mechanical

  • Program computers for electronic engineering applications
  • inspect facilities or equipment for regulatory compliance
  • read blueprints
  • prepare technical reports or related documentation
  • communicate technical information
  • confer with engineering, technical or manufacturing personnel
  • read technical drawings
  • understand technical operating, service or repair manuals
  • analyze technical data, designs, or preliminary specifications
  • confer with vendors
  • examine engineering documents for completeness or accuracy
  • follow statistical process control procedures
  • read schematics
  • understand detailed electronic design specifications
  • understand engineering data or reports
  • use drafting or mechanical drawing techniques
  • use robotics systems technology
  • understand service or repair manuals
  • install electronic equipment, components, or systems
  • install/connect electrical equipment to power circuit
  • modify electrical or electronic equipment or products
  • repair electronic components, equipment, or systems
  • repair or replace electrical wiring, circuits, fixtures, or equipment
  • calibrate or adjust electronic equipment or instruments to specification
  • install, maintain, or repair electronics manufacturing equipment
  • maintain or repair work tools or equipment
  • understand technical information for electronic repair work
  • follow manufacturing methods or techniques
  • inspect manufactured products or materials
  • read manufacturing outlines for electronic products
  • repair computer controlled manufacturing systems
  • troubleshoot electronics manufacturing equipment

  • set up and operate variety of machine tools
