Job Description:
This position reports to the Vice President of North American Operations, and supervises Operations Managers in the operating locations (Weatherford, TX; Conway, AR; Pennsylvania)

Primary Focus

This position will have operational and financial responsibility for conducting the business of Saxon's business interests in North America

Specific Accountabilities

Management

  • Support strategic initiatives for the Region.
  • Resolve complaints/ disputes regarding field employees and/or customers.
  • Liaise with other Regional Managers to provide resource and equipment assistance whenever possible.
  • Assist with long term planning and budgeting processes.
  • Carrying out regular staff appraisals, ensuring staff are developed and functioning in line with role requirements.

Operations

  • Responsibility for directing the effective performance of Operations Managers.
  • Visit field locations regularly to monitor ongoing operations.  
  • Provide regular (weekly/monthly) reports to VP of Operations regarding work status and/or upcoming events.
  • Ensure that all activity pre-and post operations are completed to the full satisfaction of the client.
  • Conduct rig site and yard audits as appropriate.

HSE

  • Working closely with HSE at the regional and corporate level to establish a consistent safety culture throughout the   operations.
  • Oversee HSE function; monitor quality, safety, and environmental levels; foster and maintained a strong and safe culture
    consistent with Saxon.

Other

  • Comply with all foreign and U.S. government regulations; oversee and enforce SOX compliance directives, and address
    environmental issues as necessary.
  • Manage and supervise direct reports support/implement operational policies and practices, as well as promote and enforce
    safety standards and procedures.

Required Training and Certification

  • Minimum 10+ years operational experience with land drilling operations; with (4) years Oilfield management experience OR
  • B.Sc Degree in Mechanical Engineering and/or Vocational trade school certification in mechanical engineering (related trades or equivalent experience).
  • Marketing Skills and the ability to find new clients and answer to the commercial tenders.
  • Knowledge of and experience in the well construction or related oil and gas industry; familiarity with top drive equipment,
    mechanical and AC drive rigs.
  • Knowledge of various computer software, to include Microsoft office: Work, Excel Outlook & PowerPoint.

Working Conditions

  • Will be required to travel to operating locations and to work long hours.
