Job Description:


The Electrical Engineer will report to the Director, Design Services and will be responsible for providing design, cost estimates, and scheduling for rig modifications.

Primary Responsibilities:

The Electrical Engineer may:
•Recognize and pass on technical developments and information that could affect management decisions
•Provide electrical technical direction and support for other disciplines in the Engineering Dept. and for other departments of Tech Services
•Specify rig modifications and equipment required for rig improvement projects
•Provide design, cost estimates and scheduling for rig modifications
•Provide response for technical inquiries by customers and regulatory agencies
•Develop electrical AFEs
•Evaluate competitive vendor designs and fabrication proposals toward resolving problems and make appropriate selections
•Coordinate and monitor electrical systems design and development efforts by the selected vendors . Participate fully in all Health, Safety and Environmental initiatives and safety programs.
•Perform other duties as required


•Legally authorized to work in the United States without restrictions
•Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering
•5 or more years of experience with at least 3 years in drilling or related industry
•3 or more years working with power generation and SCR control systems/PLC's
•3 or more years working with offshore drilling industry standards and regulatory codes including IEEE, ABS, USCG and IMO
•Possess or able to obtain a valid passport

•Familiarity with PLC code, vessel dynamic positioning systems, and knowledge of A.C. systems desirable
•Masters degree and/or P.E. desirable
•Must be able to obtain a valid passport
•May require occasional offshore travel
