Job Description:

• High profile E&P with aggressive drilling strategy in eastern gas plays
• Own the EHS function and lead a team of specialists
• Management package including attractive short terms and long term upside

Our client is an independent E&P company based in Denver, Colorado with operations in the Marcellus and Utica shale plays.  With more than 100 horizontal wells successfully drilled and completed, this highly respected operator has another 50 wells forecasted in the short term future.  As the result of an ongoing focus on operational excellence, they are currently seeking a VP OF HEALTH, SAFETY & ENVIRONMENT to join the executive leadership.

Your key objective is to oversee the management of the HSE function, ensuring that HSE compliance remain at the forefront of all company activities.  Specifically, your duties will include:
• Developing and overseeing implementation of HSE programs, policies and procedures
• Developing and implementing methodology to embed an HSE culture across the business
• Manage site Safety Managers and conduct regular team meetings
• Be the primary interface between company and regulatory agencies
• Ensuring workplace safety and environmental compliance with EHS statutory requirements
• Coordinating regular site safety inspections, audits and investigations
• Implementing risk assessment and controls across all of our activities
• Implementing corrective actions and remedies in the most effective manner
• Monitoring performance using data analysis and conducting reviews for senior leadership
• Conducting regular safety and environmental training for employees and contractors

To be considered for this position you will possess the following:
• Bachelor's degree in EHS or Engineering preferred
• 10+ years working in oil/gas with 3+ years at leadership level
• Transformational leadership qualities
• Firm, direct and confident style of communication
• Passion for personnel development and talent depth in an organization
• Strong analytical and presentation skills
