Job Description:

Fugro Subsea Services are providers of professional, cost-effective solutions to ROV requirements and specialize in ROV Drill Support, IRM, Tooling and Construction Support.

Position
This is an onshore position based in our Aberdeen office reporting to the ROV Workshop Supervisor.
Job Scope: Based in ROV Workshop, providing Technical Support to the Onshore ROV Systems and Personnel.

Main Role:
•To undertake testing, maintenance and repair of all types of electrical / electronic equipment on ROV systems and ancillary equipment.
•Assist offshore engineers when they are assigned to workshop duties.
•Ensuring good safe working practices in the workshop and warehouse are maintained at all times.
•Complete electrical / electronic related work activities and assist personnel working in the base electronic / electrical workshop.
•Good housekeeping of the electronic / electrical workshop.
•Maintenance, repair and fault finding of ROV systems.
•Maintain ROV system service records and associated documentation.
•Maintenance, service, repair, certification and operation of all workshop electrical test equipment and tools.
•Integration, testing and operation of ROV mounted survey electronic / electrical sensor systems.
•Implementation of electrical/electronic workshop QA procedures, work instructions and maintenance of service records.
•Provide support and guidance to offshore personnel when allocated to workshop system preparation.
•Provide technical and operational support to the Workshop Manager, Operations Manager and Base Services.
•Assist training of offshore field staff on technical / operation aspects of ROV systems and equipment.
•Assist ROV Workshop Supervisor & Base Services Supervisor complete requirements for ROV System certification, PMS and mobilisation / de-mobilisation activities.
•Systems load out at mobilisation / de-mobilisation.

Position Requirements

ESSENTIAL REQUIREMENTS
•ONC or HNC or equivalent in a suitable electronics discipline
•Experienced time served Industrial Electrician
•Minimum of 3 years' experience working on industrial electronics/electrical systems in a workshop environment
•Electrical / Electronics - High standard of basic knowledge.
•Developed electronic / electrical fault finding skills including installation expertise.
•Good working knowledge of the Electricity at Work Regulations 1989, the Electricity Safety, Quality & Continuity Regulations 2002, any other relevant standards, codes of practice & Health and Safety Legislation.
•Critical Thinking - Using logic and reasoning to identify the strengths and weaknesses of alternative solutions, conclusions or approaches to problems.
•Testing of electrical/Electronic equipment, using standard test equipment and be able to analyse results to evaluate performance and determine need for further work.
•Read, comprehend and be able to follow wiring diagrams, schematic drawings, and engineering instructions.
•Good workshop practices and skills.
•Understanding of QHSE policies and practices. As well as in accordance with Fugro Subsea Services Limited QHSE and procedures.

DESIRABLE REQUIREMENTS
•HND Electronic / Electrical Engineering
•C&G 2391
•Comp'EX' certified
•IEE 17th Edition Wiring Regulations (C&G2382)
•Recognised High Voltage training
•City & Guilds 2330 part 2 and 3 or equivalent SVQ
•Previous experience working on ROV systems in either an offshore or onshore environment
•Demonstrable recent experience of carrying out full Electrical Testing and Inspection as set out in BS7671:2008 17th Edition regulations
•Knowledge of principles, techniques, procedures, and use of equipment required for the repair and maintenance of various ROV and associated sub systems.
•Integration, testing and operation of various Survey Sensors that are installed on an ROV.
•Perform preventative maintenance and calibration of equipment and systems.
•Assemble, test, and maintain electrical/electronic systems components and circuitry according to engineering instructions, technical manuals.
•Knowledge of current 'ATEX' regulations.
•Knowledge of High Voltage electrical switching and control systems.
