Job Description:

We are seeking to recruit a Project Specialist (Project Engineer) to support the Drilling Solutions product line in Western Canada.  As a Project Specialist for the Drilling Solutions group, the successful candidate will work with the sales team to deliver a high level of service to new and existing customers.  This individual must be self motivated and a great communicator.

Position: Project Specialist (Project Engineer), Drilling Solutions

Location: Calgary, Alberta

Department: Drilling Solutions

Responsibilities:
• Perform and/or direct all sales and engineering efforts within assigned account to maximize new business opportunities for all product lines
• Work with Operations to facilitate placement of drilling fluids specialists and field service operators within account. Maintain open communication with well sites
• Work with Houston R&E Department to promote new technology and utilize engineering
• Participate in yearly bids and other contracts
• Monitor invoicing within assigned account
• Direct bidding and pricing proposals within account with management approval                    
• Contract review functions
• Perform design control functions
• Maintain open communication with customer to resolve problems and present new technologies
• Prepare well summaries and area studies/present to customers
• Make technical presentations to current and potential customers
• Handles special projects, as assigned

Qualifications/Education:
• Minimum/college diploma in petroleum or chemistry preferred
• Minimum 8-10 years drilling fluids experience including Sr. Drilling Fluids Specialist and/or Tech Service
• HTHP experience
• Understanding of bid/invoicing procedures
• Customer relation skills and sales ability
• Ability to work in a high paced, multi-tasked environment
• Must be computer literate with proficient skills in MS Office suite of programs and M-I SWACO software including ONE TRAX and Virtual Hydraulics
• Ability to present information to customers in a professional fashion
• Knowledge of company's product and services and their application to customers' needs and requirements
• Exceptional communication and presentation skills
• Excellent interpersonal skills, self motivated and a willingness to learn
