Job Description:

Research and Development Chemical Engineer-#3264
Under the direction of a Senior Development Engineer or Chemist, the successful candidate will be responsible for coordinating and executing from start to finish lab scale through pilot scale Petrochemical or Refining test programs. He or she will analyze and interpret the data generated, and using initiative will effectively communicate the results through verbal communications, presentations and written reports. Test programs will be developed with the intention of developing new processes for licenses or improving on existing processes. This is an ideal position to learn the complete working of a chemical refinery as the individual will interface with all plant personnel.

• Bachelor's Degree in Chemical Engineering or Chemistry
• 0 to 5 years R&D experience with small scale Petrochemical or Refining test units
• Knowledge of small test unit HSE Issues
• Excellent Written and Verbal Communication Skills
• Competence in the use of Commercial Process Simulators (e.g HYSIS, PROII,ASPEN)

Local Job Description
• Develop and implement experimental Petrochemical or Refining programs
• Propose program improvements using knowledge of kinetics and/or catalysis
• Generate and interpret data to fulfill program objectives
• Integrate local HSE requirements into planning, design and execution using Management of Change protocols.
• Effectively interface with a diverse Development team, including Operations, Maintenance and Analytical.
• Assist with the design of new or modified experimental units. Prepare P&ID's and equipment lists.
• Prepare and modify Unit Operating Manuals.
• Integrate results into Process Simulators to assess impact on commercial scale economics. Use simulation results to help guide experimental programs and make recommendations.
• Must be able to effectively give presentations and generate accurate reports.
