Job Description:

Essential Duties and Responsibilities
• An Area BD ensures the satisfaction of local assigned operating customers. Determined by the District Manager and Area Director, specific customers and/or areas of focus will be identified and assigned;
• The SALES/BD is responsible for revenue production that far exceeds their personal cost of operation (minimum of 4X personal cost);
• The SALES/BD is owns the ''customer experience'' for each customer they see, providing a point of contact between the customer and SDI operations;
• The SALES/BD is the point of contact for all needs relative to SDI's products and services;
• The SALES/BD will identify, develop, and execute on customer opportunities for organic growth within the Area they operate;
• The SALES/BD communicates with the customers on a weekly/daily basis (both electronically and in person) to ensure existing satisfaction and progress in closing sales opportunities;
• The SALES/BD utilizes business communication tools to help share information and valuable intel around the client's business (weekly local reporting, sales dial-ins, sales pipeline system);
• The SALES/BD is proactive in bringing in technical support, when necessary, to close sales opportunities;
• The SALES/BD works diligently to assist in investigation and close out of Non-Conformance Reports and outstanding receivables (when necessary);
• The SALES/BD is accountable for weekly communications with the SDI operating districts and monthly dial-in meetings with global sales & marketing

• Is proficient in building proposals and presentations that are professional and effective in customer selling situations;
• Has good communication skills internally;
• Is urgent and aggressive in their selling approach...communicates with customers daily;
• Uses logic to solve problems with effective solutions;
• Has competencies in effective writing, and listening;
• Is professional in both appearance and manner;
• Effective in multi-tasking and is driving for results;

Education, Experience, Certification and Training

• High School Diploma or GED equivalent required.
• Four year college/university degree (preferred)
• 3-7 years minimum energy or energy services experience.
• 2-4 years minimum business or sales experience.
• Completion of SDI required HSE and skill level training or equivalent.

Metrics and Measurements
Conditions of Employment
• Sales Best Practices
o Bi-Weekly Sales Dial-ins
o Monthly Reporting
o Quarterly Reviews
o Call Sales Planning
• Consistent and clear communication with SDI country/district operations, Product Line Management, and other support disciplines
• Customer visits (3 days per week minimum)

Performance Measurement
• Revenue Generation - SALES/BDM revenue production against set customer revenue Plan (defined during yearly forecasting process)

Minimum requirements include
-4X revenue generation against personal cost at year end
-revenue growth quarter over quarter

• Activity-Based Criteria - measured against the set criteria (below) and decided upon by the respective District & Sales Managers.

Assessed on a Scale of 1-5
''5'' = performance that exceeds expectations
''4'' = performance that sometimes meets and sometimes exceeds expectations
''3'' = performance that meets expectations
''2'' = performance below expectations
''1'' = poor performance (action required)

2. Issue Resolution - ability to manager customer issues, problems, or failures that result in minimal harm to future business
3. Communication - action orientation with customer needs (internal and external)
4. Work Product - ability to produce professional sales proposals, sales material, and effective writing skills
