Job Description:

The primary role of this position is to provide support and technical Environmental Health and Safety (EHS) services to the company in the development, application and continuous improvement of EHS programs. This position will support Oasis Well Services operations and third-party hydraulic fracturing operations. This position is located in Williston, North Dakota.

Essential Job Functions:

  • Hazard Identification and Risk Management
  • Working closely with Operations staff and contractor workforce, identify hazards and develop effective mitigations
  • Train Operations staff in effective hazard identification methods
  • Ensure Risk Management processes are implemented and effective
  • Training
  • Develop and maintain a listing of required and recommended EHS training competencies
  • Identify training resources to help ensure EHS training requirements are met
  • Ensure EHS training records are kept
  • As needed, conduct EHS Orientation for new hires, including key contractors
  • Incident Reporting and Investigation
  • Review all incidents reported and ensure investigations are completed as required, action items are appropriate and completed as planned
  • Ensure that Safety Alerts or other ''Lesson Learned'' documents are created for all high severity / high potential incidents
  • Emergency Preparedness
  • Identify resources to both create emergency response plans and provide training to staff
  • EHS Management Systems
  • Assess existing EHS Management System implementation; develop and implement continual improvement plans and processes based on gaps, EHS requirements and new or existing regulations
  • Develop EHS Management System documentation (e.g. Standards and Safe Work Practices) and create socialization plans for planned or existing operations

Minimum Qualifications:

  • Minimum 5 years working knowledge and experience in E&P field operations, hydraulic fracturing experience preferred
  • At least 2 years field-based EHS support role
  • Routine travel to well sites will be necessary
  • Strong working knowledge of OSHA, DOT, HAZMAT and Radiation Safety regulations applicable to the Oil & Gas industry
  • Strong influence and partnering skills
  • Strong written, verbal and PC skills (MicroSoft Office Suite)
  • Ability to pass a post-offer pre-employment physical examination and WorkSteps physical fitness test to verify fitness for duty
  • Ability to fit-test and wear a full-face respirator
  • Ability to pass a pre-employment screening process

Preferred Qualifications:

  • BS degree in Occupational Safety and Health, Environmental Engineering or equivalent degree preferred
  • Experience working as EHS support within a service oil and gas company
  • Strong team-building skills and ability to communicate effectively across all functions in the organization
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced and fluid environment
