Topsides Project Manager - Well Head Platform (Ex Pat)

A North American Operator is looking for a Topsides Project Manager for a new Well Head Platform project in St Johns, NL. The operator in question is very well backed, this opportunity is open to experienced Project Managers who have proven that they can deliver a project like this successfully. Its an expatriate position offering a comprehensive compensation package to be based at their regional HQ.

The Topsides Project Manager, WHP will be responsible for the overall delivery of the topsides scope of work, including detail design engineering, construction and commissioning of the topsides facilities. They will manage and coordinate multidiscipline engineering activities to ensure projects are executed in a safe, efficient, cost effective and timely manner.

Specific responsibilities will include:
*Providing clear and focused leadership for the project team to create a vision for project success and a strategy to fit that vision. Focusing on achievement of milestones and other key project objectives.
*Maturing key criteria for the topsides based on reservoir and petroleum engineering data, regulatory requirements, safety and environmental standards, design codes and good design practices.
*Delivering topsides scope of work consistent with Design Basis established in Front End Engineering Design (FEED).
*Planning and preparing accurate project estimates. Establishing cost reports for control of projects. Monitoring and controlling all cost aspects of the project including forecasting costs, obtaining approvals, identifying trends and taking action to avoid cost overruns and identifying opportunities. Assessing performance of cost control system and personnel.
*Ensuring the right systems are in place and applied on the project. Developing a project schedule which allows work to be executed in logical sequences.
*Ensuring accurate and timely progress reporting to key stakeholders. Ongoing monitoring of the communication network between project staff, the client and third parties and introducing changes where required.
*Identifying project risks and opportunities. Monitoring closure of all identified risks and opportunities.
*Setting clear objectives for the design team. Ensuring the design team is aware of, and complies with client's Basis of Design and applicable regulations and codes. Monitoring design activities, inter-discipline data flow and communications.
*Planning and implementing a strategy to ensure knowledge and skills are transferred to local staff to manage ongoing operations and future developments.
*Assessing procurement process through the project to ensure goods meet specifications and are delivered on time and within budget;
*Supervising the selection, specification and design of equipment and systems suitable to meet topsides Basis of Design in the hostile environment.
*Managing the development contractor to ensure the topsides design is fit-for-purpose, constructible and of high integrity. Verifying compliance with the functional specification.
*Working closely with the Interface Manager to ensure proper interface planning is performed to ensure seamless mating and installation.

Occasional travel to the construction and other sites will be required. This may require travel outside of Canada which will require a valid passport.

Requirements
*A Bachelor's Degree in Engineering is required;
*A member in good standing, or eligible for registration with, Professional Engineers and Geoscientists of Newfoundland and Labrador (PEGNL);
*5-10 years of experience managing topsides design and construction;
*Minimum of 15 years industry experience in project management/project engineering;
*Demonstrable commitment to Health, Safety, and Environment (HSE) Management in a project Environment;
*Excellent leadership and communication skills;
*Proven ability in leading multidiscipline activities;
*Available to travel occasionally to project sites for review meetings and inspections.

Medical (Physical) Requirements/Standards

*Required to travel offshore from time to time, therefore you will be required to obtain medical clearance prior to travel offshore.
