Job Description:

STRUCTURAL WELDING INSPECTOR RESPONSIBILITIES
Key Responsibilities
Reporting directly to the COMPANY's Onshore Construction Superintendent and indirectly to the lead inspector in performance of surveillance and/or inspection activities related to the structural fabrication necessary for achieving the desire levels of quality as it pertains to the project.

General Responsibilities
• Review Structural drawings and specifications and provide any necessary comment to COMPANY.
• Verify acceptable material tracking procedure is established and implemented.
• Review EPC Contractors WPS´s and PQR's for compliance and acceptability.
• Monitor all welder and welding procedure qualification and testing.
• Maintain current list of welders and qualification.
• Review and confirm all EPC Contractor NDT procedures are in line with COMPANY Specifications.
• Confirm qualifications of NDT technicians.
• Inspect EPC Contractors equipment for safety and acceptable operation.
• Confirm calibration and suitability of EPC Contractor´s inspection and testing equipment.
• Check and record EPC contractor´s weld consumable stock and confirm correct consumable materials are being used and incorporated.
• Check and comment of set up of work area safety before work starts.
• Monitor the preparation, fit-up, pre-heat, and welding and post weld heat treatment operations to ensure compliance with COMPANY Specifications.
• Ensure all welding and NDT complete and accepted before covering weld area.
• View and accept, comment or reject on all radiographs and record on a Summary Sheet.
• View and accept/reject all weld repairs / NDT work and record on a Summary Sheet.
• Keep welder performance log and advice on repair rates for all welders.
• Confirm compliance to shop drawings, COMPANY and code requirements.
• Confirm transfer of heat numbers, before cutting, maintain full material traceability.
• Monitor, observe and advise on dimensional checking to verify as-built dimensions.
• Prepare list of structural items and review / monitor the prepared punch lists.
• Prepare and maintain an ongoing auditable Master Inspection Summary File of all assigned work.
• Maintain a detailed Daily Log.
• Review all construction records for correctness and completeness.


PIPING INSPECTOR RESPONSIBILITIES
Key Responsibilities
Reporting directly to the COMPANY's Onshore Construction Superintendent and indirectly to the lead inspector in performance of surveillance and/or inspection activities related to process piping and/or fabrication necessary for achieving the desire levels of quality as it pertains to the project.
General Responsibilities
• Review piping and instrument diagrams (P&IDs) and provide and any necessary commits to COMPANY.
• Review all piping drawings, ISO(s), and specifications and provide any necessary comments to COMPANY.
• Perform P&ID checks of each system to verify design compliance.
• Verify certification documentation for site purchased, free issue and/or contractor purchased piping/vessel materials/components is correct.
• Review EPC Contractors Piping / vessels WPS´s and PQR's for compliance and acceptability.
• Review and confirm all EPC Contractor NDT procedures to be in line with COMPANY Specifications.
• Confirm qualifications of NDT technicians.
• Inspect EPC Contractor's equipment for safety and acceptable operation.
• Confirm calibration and suitability of EPC Contractor´s inspection and testing equipment.
• Check and record EPC Contractor´s weld consumable stock and confirm correct consumable materials are being used and incorporated.
• Check and comment of set up of work area safety before work starts.
• Monitor the preparation, fit-up, pre-heat, and welding and post weld heat treatment operations to ensure compliance with COMPANY Specifications.
• View and accept, comment or reject on all radiographs and record on Summary Sheet.
• View and accept/reject all weld repairs / NDT work and record on Summary Sheet.
• Confirm compliance to ISO/shop drawings, COMPANY and code requirements.
• Witness hydrostatic and tightness testing as required.
• Monitor and record flushing, cleaning, hydrotesting and drying of pipework.
• Verify insulation type and thickness, area of required installation, and prior surface preparation.
• Monitor, observe and advise on dimensional checking to verify as-built dimensions.
• Prepare list of piping/vessel items and review / monitor the prepared punch lists.
• Prepare and maintain an ongoing auditable Master Inspection Summary File of all assigned work.
• Maintain a detailed Daily Log.
• Review all construction records for correctness and completeness.
