Principal Material Handling Engineer
plans, schedules, conducts and leads broad and/or technically complex engineering assignments requiring judgment, independent evaluation, selection and significant adaptation and deviation from standard techniques and procedures.
Develops, plans, evaluates and recommends solutions for difficult problems related to materials handling systems.
Specifies, requisitions, evaluates, purchases, conducts meetings, approves, witness tests and ensures all procured equipment meets all performance, cost, schedule and expectations of the client.
as a minimum, the candidate shall possess a bachelor of science degree (bs) in mechanical engineering (me), mechanical engineering technology (met) or other applicable degree field or other equivalent international professional degree.
Years of experience
candidate shall have a minimum of 15 years applicable and demonstrable experience in the various required attributes and qualifications listed below. Must have at least 5 years with a major engineering/construction company.
Types of materials handling equipment
conveyors, stackers, reclaimers, feeders, pneumatic conveyors, bucket elevators, freight/passenger elevators, coker cranes, maintenance cranes and hoists, loading arms, and other miscellaneous materials handling related equipment.
Types of activities
create / interpret / apply / and/or create:
project level - concept development, design basis documents, logic studies, equipment specifications and industry standards, equipment data sheets, inquiry and purchase requisitions, pre-bid meetings, technical evaluations, pre-award meeting, kick-off meetings, vendor data review, shop inspections, witness testing and field evaluation.
Department level - specification and standards development, scheduling, manhour estimating and budget and manpower planning.
proposal, conceptual, bed, bep, feed, epc, epcm, pmc, construction and/or in an operating refinery.

refinery - pet coke (sponge, shot, needle), calcined coke, sulfur
power generation (conventional pc, stokers, cfb, gasifiers) - coal, coke, limestone, ash, fgd sludge, woodchips, bark, rice hull and shaft, municipal solid waste, rubber tires
