Oceaneering is a global oilfield provider of engineered services and products primarily to the offshore oil and gas industry, with a focus on deepwater applications. The responsibilities include the design, installation and maintenance of the Company's Data Network globally. The individual must be qualified at all levels of LAN, WAN, VPN with an emphasis on Security and Wireless. The candidate must be competent to work as a SME in the design and troubleshooting the company's globally wireless and security technologies.
Knowledge of standard project management practices with excellent written and oral communications skills are also required.
Duties & Responsibilities
In this role the Senior Network Engineer will be responsible for developing detailed implementation plans to accommodate Oceaneering growth. The individual will be responsible for evaluating the Security and Wireless technologies which are to be deployed at our World Wide offices. The individual will need to be an expert in these technologies and design a solution so as to maximize the function of the equipment purchased. Other Duties and responsibilities include, effectively communicating project plans and expectations to the team members. Provide documentation and training to the group and a full understanding of our change control requirement to ensure compliance with the audit system.
Education and/or Experience
Minimum 7 to 10 years working as a lead on Data, Wireless and Security technologies with the following required experience as well as strong verbal and written communications skills and ability to work well in a team or individually. Bachelor Degree and Certification preferred.
To perform this job successfully, an individual should have complete knowledge of
Expert understanding of:
- TCP/IP network protocols
- Cisco ASA Firewall with working knowledge of DMZ design and security best practices
- Wireless design typically gained from past experiences including Cisco, Aruba or Motorola
- configuring and troubleshooting GRE/IPSEC, DMVPN, Any Connect and SSL VPN
- Expert in switching technologies
- Cisco ASR's, Nexus, Catalyst 6500's 2960's, 2900 ISR, 3560, ASA and WISM product line
- Load balancers such as F5 and Cisco ACE
- EIGRP and BGP routing protocols
- Must be able to navigate and maintain Network Monitoring tools such as Solarwinds and Cisco Prime
- Experience of QOS policies across the Enterprise for Data, Voice and Video
