Basic Purpose of Job:
To work as an integrated team member reporting directly to the Project Manager. To manage a programme of work scopes or medium sized projects. Manage the cost and schedule of the designated elements within the projects; manage kick off and progress meetings to ensure project requirements are communicated via the project manager to all members of the team e.g discipline engineers and maintain the Technical Assurance of the Engineering process.
•Shall be responsible for the management of the allocated work scope associated with a phased project from kick off to close out.
•Shall be responsible for raising the detailed development of the SOW within the designated phase.
•Shall be responsible for the organisation and management of the kick off and subsequent progress meetings with the designated phase.
•Shall be responsible for the development of the overall project budget and schedule and the management with the designated phase.
•Shall be responsible for ensuring good communication of discipline issues
•Shall be responsible for keeping the project manager informed of progress cost and project issues.
•Shall ensure timely approval of project budgets and CTRs.
•Shall ensure delivery of each Project/Modification to budget and schedule, ensuring changes are managed and suitably approved by the project manager / client prior to implementation.
•Shall be the project managers / clients' primary focal point for allocated Project/Modifications.
•Shall maintain a constant dialogue with other Project Engineers, the Delivery Team Leader and Engineering Manager to ensure project priorities are maintained.
Health and Safety Responsibilities:
•Shall comply with all relevant procedures, guidance, etc. relating to the work, which will ensure compliance with the WGPSN Safety Management System.
•Shall attend regular Safety, Health and Environmental awareness training provided by the company which will help meet the above requirements.
Degree and membership of a professional institution (ideally Mechanical or Process / Electrical / Instrumentation).
Can demonstrate ability & competence to operate at this level.
Specific Training / Specialist Skills:
•Responsible for assessing effectiveness of working practices and systems with a view to continuously improving systems, personal and team performance
•Understanding of commercial and technical Risk Assessments
•Practitioner in project Risk Management processes
•Considerable experience in the management of multi disciplined offshore or onshore oil and gas projects (design, procurement, & construction scope).
Strong abilities in the following areas:
•Publicise Engineering achievements
•Motivate discipline teams
•Maintain customer relationships
