Engineering Manager

Summary:

The Engineering Manager will deliver standardized, configurable controls system solutions that meet the global market requirements for subsea production systems.  The Engineering Manager is to ensure the team delivers on the commitments for time, budget & quality.  He or she will continuously improve the efficiency and effectiveness of the group & business and ensure that the engineering team is motivated, consistently delivers and strives to better company goals.

Duties and Responsibilities:

• Allocate & manage resources to meet all engineering demands
• Develop a product portfolio ensuring standard products are used for configuration on customer projects
• Maintain extensive knowledge of the products offered
• Attend management meetings regularly to provide project updates
• Provide engineering deliverables according to schedule and budget requirements
• Manage, support and direct the engineering team
• Take part in disciplinary action, performance reviews, hiring, and terminations for engineering department
• Work with management to construct a database of product technical capabilities
• Provide technical support for project proposals as needed
• Provide technical input for FEED studies as required
• Ensure group is aware of and compliant with latest procedures and statutory requirements
• Ensure all aspects of design (i.e. engineering, manufacturing, HSE, cost, form, fit & function) have been correctly identified and addressed
• Ensure engineering team follows all company processes and adheres to company policies
• Uphold and carry out the directives of executive management
• Participate in continuous improvement exercises
• Lead by example and demonstrate commitment
• Be familiar with Company HSE policies and procedures
• Share knowledge & best practice across the company
• All other duties as assigned

Qualifications:

• Engineering Degree and at least 10 years of experience in the field
• Must be flexible and able to work autonomously.
• Experience in mechanical, electrical, or hydraulic design of subsea products
• Strong interpersonal and communications skills, both verbal and written
• Ability to handle multiple projects and deadlines with changing priorities
• Experienced manager within the subsea sector or oil & gas industry
• Proficient in Microsoft Windows, Outlook, Word, Excel and PowerPoint
• Good communication skills
• Ability to lead, motivate and develop our people
• Organizer, team building & alignment
• Decision maker and solution orientated
