Senior Structural Designer (AutoCAD/Document Control)

MCL Canada has an immediate vacancy for a Sr. Structural Designer (AutoCAD/Document Control) for our ongoing offshore oil and gas projects.

Details: For our Drilling client on the Hebron project

Location: The position is based out of Metroworth St. John's office and Metroworth's client sites in the St. John's area

Duration of Contract: 10 months, renewable

Rate: 40 - 50 hours weekly based on an hourly rate of $75-$95 UDS/hr commensurate with experience, plus excellent benefits package.

Rotation: Unaccompanied 3 months on / 2 weeks off or Accompanied 1 annual trip home per year

Experience Required: Diploma in Engineer or Combination of work experience and education. Trained in CAD drafting / designing software. Minimum 10 years proven experience of detailed design gained with design contractors and/or oil/gas companies within the petrochemical industry particularly with respect to offshore oil and gas installations. A thorough knowledge of the codes and standards and a good understanding of offshore engineering practices applicable to topsides structural design for oil and gas facilities. A member of a structural design team on at least two major Greenfield projects offshore with a recognized company within the Oil & Gas Industry. A minimum of 2 years' experience as a user of PDMS Draft. Exposure to fabrication, construction and installation activities although detailed involvement is not essential.

Additional Information: A high level of process and personnel safety awareness is required. It is required that the Senior Structural Designer/AutoCAD/Document Control possesses good analytical skills, excellent report writing and English skills. Furthermore, the candidate should be cost conscious, self-motivating, ambitious and hard working. Proficient computer skills with company software and network system. Can produce reports or lists to track progress of required project drawings.
