Job Description:
Position Summary:

Responsible for day to day billing functions (Training, Supervision, Internal Controls, Processes, of billing staff in order to meet accounting deliverables) with an organized planned approach.

The core areas of accountability include but are not limited to the following:

Actively support and manage day to day billing operations.
Lead and guide both internal billing staff and customers on billing issues.
Responsible for accurate and timely preparation of billing invoices
Serves as a customer contact for billing inquiries.
Maintain appropriate files, documents, and reports.
Accurately calculate invoicing rates in accordance with executed customer agreements.
Enter and review billing data.
Responsible for billing collections and follow-up activities.
Produce reports, letters, and all required correspondence.
Establish and maintain roles, responsibilities to meet daily, weekly, monthly billing deliverables.
Ensure all internal and external customers' needs are understood and make every effort to align them with billing roles and responsibilities
Nurture positive corporate culture, and develop personal leadership
Special projects as they are assigned

The duties and responsibilities of the Billing Specialist   are not limited to those listed above, but also include any additional duties and responsibilities assigned.



Sound knowledge of accounting principles
2-3 years' oilfield financial accounting and billing experience.
Ability to manage high volume transactions (300+ invoices daily)
PeopleSoft experience preferred.
Oil and Gas operations knowledge
Understanding of industry oil marketing and billing management


Proven leadership skills
Excellent communication skills
Work well with team members
High level understanding of Producer processes and administration
Excellent ability to educate and transfer knowledge
Ability to travel to customer and Tervita locations
Continually learn to lead yourself and your community
