Job Description:

Mission:
Organizes and directs all TDW service personnel and operations, manages inventory of TDW products and leads all business development and sales activities in assigned geographic territory.

Tasks:

  • Supervises direct reports in the management of their assigned field projects to ensure that their projects are performed within budget, on time and performance results are consistent with established goals and objectives while meeting customer expectations,
  • Ensures technical proficiency appropriate to meet customer and market requirements and that regional operations are conducted with a focus on safety and quality of the service offered,
  • Ensures continuous process improvement within the region in order to maximize efficiency and responsiveness,
  • Coordinates warehouse activities, such as product sales, records control, purchasing, invoice review, consumption reports, demand forecasts, and scheduling of product distribution;
  • Conducts market and business analysis of assigned region to generate new business and drive growth in region,
  • Develops and implements marketing and sales strategies for the region to meet or exceed growth objectives,
  • Searches and develops ideas for product and service innovation that can be incorporated into the Company's product/service offering,
  • Continually seeks to expand product and service offerings to meet customer's needs,
  • Maintains a strong partnership with customers by understanding and responding to their implicit and explicit needs, ensuring solutions are supplied which meet customer's business needs;
  • Assists in the development and implementation of the annual operating plan, including operating and capital budgets, which are consistent with corporate goals and objectives,
  • Ensures achievement of EVA targeted goals for the region,
  • Directs all service and support activity for the region to ensure responsiveness and consistent improvement in market share, volume and gross margins,
  • Manages the transfer of inventory, working capital, and fixed assets within the region as well as with other regions as required;
  • Responsible for the field operating procedures and quality safety programs to ensure the services provided are in compliance with TDW and customer's standards,
  • Ensures that HSE rules and procedures are followed by all employees in the region and that appropriate guidance and training are provided for services operations,
  • Assists in the development of service quality objectives commensurate with TDW's quality policy, which assures continued ISO certification;
  • Responsible for the field operating procedures and quality safety programs to ensure the services provided are in compliance with TDW and customer's standards,
  • Ensures that HSE rules and procedures are followed by all employees in the region and that appropriate guidance and training are provided for services operations,
  • Assists in the development of service quality objectives commensurate with TDW's quality policy, which assures continued ISO certification;
  • Selects, evaluates, motivates, develops, and trains employees to ensure a qualified workforce necessary to meet company objectives while complying with EEO and Affirmative Action guidelines or foreign employment guidelines as applicable,
  • Conducts performance reviews according to schedule, providing fair and accurate assessment of employee performance, training needs, areas for improvement and possibility of future growth within the organization, and ensures training & development needs are addressed;
  • Reports to Regional General Manager,
  • Directly manages the region's Service Center personnel, including: Service Center Supervisor, Coordinators, Technicians, Welder, Mechanics, Sales Representatives,
  • Interacts and works closely with the regional sales force and regional distributors/rep firms to ensure all aspects of the customer's needs are met to their highest expectations.
  • Works in close collaboration with other Operation Managers, Service Center Managers, Pipeline Integrity Solutions, Pipeline Services Support, and other regional business unit leaders.
  • Develops and maintains strong partnerships with the POCs of the region, ensuring their full satisfaction.
  • Proactively collaborates and directs territory sales force to find new opportunities and expand market share.
  • Direct involvement with regional industry associations in the territory

Qualifications

  • 5+ years of experience in the pipeline industry, preferably in a pipeline services company (in-line inspection, hot tapping and plugging, etc.),
  • Bachelor's degree in engineering, business administration or related field,
  • 3-5 years of experience managing one or more teams of direct reports.
  • Strong business development background with proven ability to understand market and create customer base,
  • Knowledge of field operations and other functional disciplines, i.e., marketing, engineering, logistics, contracts, liabilities/risk, and finance is preferred,
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills, along with demonstrated leadership skills,
  • Proficient in the use of personal computers, with MS Word and Excel knowledge at the intermediate level.
