Summary: Responsible for maintaining a safe environment by identifying and anticipating concerns and hazards; developing and enforcing systems, policies and safety procedures. Responsible for maintaining documented quality assurance and quality control procedures.
Duties and Responsibilities include the following. Other duties may be assigned.
1.Identifies and anticipates safety and health concerns and hazards by surveying environmental, operational, and occupational conditions; rendering opinions on new equipment and procedures; investigating violations; recommending preventive programs.
2.Guides and promotes safe work performance by enforcing safety systems, policies, and procedures; developing safety meetings, communications, and recognitions; training managers and employees.
3.Complies with federal, state, and local safety regulations by studying existing and new legislation; interpreting standards; enforcing adherence to regulations; advising management on needed actions.
4.Enforces safety policies by conducting inspections; reporting statistics; counseling managers and employees.
5.Promotes a safe environment by coordinating and cooperating with local, state, and regional safety groups and agencies.
6.Represents the organization by collecting data, presenting information at any hearings, and coordinating with claims adjusters where necessary.
7.Maintains a safety information database by developing information requirements.
8.Completes operational requirements by scheduling and assigning employees; following up on work results.
9.Reports any facility concerns to Production Manager to discuss troubleshooting strategies.
10.Responsible for health and safety compliance, and enforces protocols for on the job incidents and incident reporting.
11.Conducts safety orientations for all new hires as part of the Safety Induction Training.
12.Schedules trainings (such as forklift training) for shop personnel along with refresher courses where necessary.
13.Provides support and on-site reviews and audits of operations within the facility.
14.Responsible for accident investigation, data analysis, and recurrence prevention programs and procedures, in addition to ensuring corrective action follow-ups are completed.
15.Reviews the production process for conformance to quality standards.
16.Maintains and reports product conformance to specifications through inspection of materials, work in process and finished goods inventories.
17.Reports and tracks any significant deviations from quality standards.
18.Maintains records of any incidents and submits timely reports in regards to OSHA compliance.

4.Understanding of regulatory training requirements, OSHA, MSHA, EPA, DOT, MMS, USCG are preferred.
5.Credentials for instruction of First Aid CPR, OSHA 10 or 30 preferred.
6.Intermediate computer skills with MS Word, Excel and Powerpoint.
7.Ability to travel by boat, air, and helicopter.
8.Ability to visit customer sites, including rigs.
9.Vertical capabilities: requires climbing on stairs, investigations at high altitudes, and ability to handle all platform levels/rig/heights.
10.Ability to work in confined spaces, and provide safety training in these areas.
•High School Diploma or Equivalent. Minimum three (3) years exp. in work related field. Previous experience conducting safety training classes and meeting is a plus.
