Senior Geotechnical Engineer

An international resource consulting firm is seeking a Senior Geotechnical Engineer in their Calgary office. As the Senior Geotechnical Engineer you will have access to global opportunities in a multidisciplinary environment in one of the most fully integrated firms throughout the mining and energy sectors.

To be successful as the Senior Geotechnical Engineer you will have an undergraduate Geotechnical degree (or related field) and a minimum of 10 years of experience in industry along with eligibility to register with APEGA. Proven project management and clear communication skills are assets and you should be prepared to travel up to two weeks at a time to appropriately oversee your projects. Technical requirements include a working knowledge of ACAD systems, the GeoSlope suite and MS Office.

As the Senior Geotechnical Engineer you will prepare proposals, cost estimates and project timelines while leading the planning field support and site completion investigations. Civil earthworks structures will primarily include mine pit slopes, waste disposal areas and tailings dams. Previous experience in the Oil Sands with waste disposal and tailings will be considered an asset.
