This person will report primarily to the USA Drilling Manager that is currently based out of Buenos Aires, Argentina.
Drilling Technician works in Drilling Department assisting Drilling Manager and Drilling/Workover Engineers with all activities associated with drilling. Responsible for entering all pertinent drilling data into company computer file system.
Technician will gather information to aid in the design and planning of drill wells, preparation of cost estimates and AFE's. Prepare final well reports from Open Wells data, drilling and workover. Provide Open Wells maintenance with head office personnel. Work with Supply Chain group on cost analysis of drilling and work over services. Prepare well plans with data provided by drilling and work over engineers. Prepare a well follow-up to assure that Company file records are complete and accurate. Analyze daily drilling activities; prepare well reports showing percentage breakdowns of activities. Assist Drilling Manager and Engineers with invoice verifications and special projects. Assist Drilling Manager with preparation of Capital Drilling Budget, Drilling Schedule and other related subjects. Assist Planning department with cost analysis for past and future wells.
EXPERIENCE AND QUALIFICATIONS
•Bachelor or Associate degree in math or technology preferred or equivalent experience.
•Minimum 3 years experience in oil & gas operations (preferably experience as a Drilling Technician with a major or independent oil and gas company).
•Must have good analytical skills.
•Proficient computer skills including Excel (advanced level), Word and PowerPoint.
•Landmark Open Wells and AP experience desirable. Spanish working level is a plus too.

The candidate will have strong problem-solving skills and strong analytical skills with ability to identify and challenge assumptions. Ability to coordinate and gather relevant information for effective analysis and presentation.
