Job Description:

The Virtual Bench is a premier recruiting and staffing firm focused on providing quality engineering candidates to some of the top firms in the industry. Our client, one of the major EPC companies is looking for a Fired Equipment Engineer with a strong chemical/refining/petrochemical background. To be considered, candidates MUST:

• currently reside in the US (those living in Canada, Mexico or other places outside the US will NOT be considered)
• have either a US citizenship or Green Card
• meet the requirements specified below
• Mechanical Engineer with a minimum of 15 years of experience in the chemical/refining/petrochemical industry
• Must have hands-on experience with design, operation and troubleshooting of steam methane reforming furnaces, fired heaters, boilers, flares, refractory, burners, heat recovery coils, and stacks
• Experience with FRNC-5 and Reform-3 software preferred
• Develops specifications, design standards, calculations, sketches, and scopes of work related to the design of reforming furnaces and other types of fired equipment and associated equipment
• Closely liase and coordinate with other discipline engineers
• Possesses a thorough knowledge of relevant industry standards (e.g. API, ASME, ASTM)
• Checks calculations and drawings for conformity with design requirements
• This level of engineer typically serves as the Lead Discipline Engineer on projects and proposals
• Organizes work to comply with project requirements
• Works with Business Development personnel on client proposals
• Prepares material requisitions and technical input to subcontract packages
• Reviews and helps update schedules and forecasts
