Our client are a leading international Offshore Marine company with global renewable and non-renewable projects. They have a fleet of self propelled and elevated barges and AHTS vessels working on offshore accommodation, well maintenance, construction and installation activities.
They are looking for a Fleet Manager based in Aberdeen to support the companies growth strategy in the region working with their vessels on projects in the North Sea.
*Cost effective management of vessels.
*Ensure that vessels are maintained in compliance with statutory, class and charter party requirements.
*Crewing of vessels with personnel of highest calibre hired within the allotted budgets.
*Implement proven vessel management practices.
*Implement all directives of the company management relating to vessel management.
*Interfaces directly with major contractors and regulatory and industry bodies at senior level and on high value shipping projects. Ensures maximum reliability within allocated budget.
*Coaching and developing the 2nd Fleet Manager
*Deputise for the GM in his absence.
*Achieve zero off hire time through irradicating defects.
*Monitor planned maintenance and ensure vessels and barges are keeping maintenance up to date.
*Apply best vessel management proceedures to attain company targets.
*Supervise daily operational activities of all assigned vessels, with assistance from appropriate members of the Operations team.
*Prepares and manages the operating and capital budgets for assigned vessels. Controls and reviews all operating and capital expenditures related to assigned vessels and reports regularly on variances.
*Controls requisitions of spares and stores to remain within yearly budgetary restriants. Regular liaison with other Company Managers at weekly meetings.
*Keep the Operations Manager advised on a regular basis about vessel operation, budgetary performance and any untoward incidents on vessels in the fleet.
*Keep close contacts with clients, maintains good working relationships with client representatives who are involved in the operations of companys vessels.
*Ensure adequate implementation of companys quality, safety and environmental policy on board the vessels. Liase with HSE to ensure all safety standards are met across the fleet.
*Monitors vessel condition through regular on board inspections and oversees major repairs.
Qualifications & Experience:
*A Class One Certificate of Competency (Master Or Chief Engineer - motor) STCW95, or a lesser cerrtificate where sufficient relevant experience can be demonstrated.
*With minimum 5 years sea-going experience.
*Must have good understanding of all marine systems and machinery.
*Knowledge of ISPS, ISM, Flag State and Classifications Society procedures and regulations.
*Ability to deal with people tactfully and effectively.
*Ability to delegate and man manage maintenance teams and sub contractors.
*Proven track record in intermediate and special dry dockings, ship repair, mobilisation / demobilisation of vessels and barges and new builds.
*Abide with the international and company's HSE standards.
*Work in professional manner and show respect to company stakeholders at all times.
*Support the achievement of quality and delivery of excellent performance in the company.
*Be creative in continuous improvement and fast resolutions of challenges.
*Must be available for support as the need arises.
*Working longer than regular office hours in providing urgent support.
