Senior Health, Safety & Environment Specialist

NES Global Talent is a leading global technical recruitment company providing professional contract and permanent staff to a diverse world-wide client base within the oil & gas Industry. Our client, an independent owner/operator, have an opportunity for a Senior Health, Safety & Environment Specialist to work on a range of exploration and production projects, on a permanent basis located in Houston.

Responsibilities

• Plans and manages the HSE compliance function in accordance with established company business plans.
• Maintains expert knowledge of specific requirements imposed by government agencies through extensive reading of the statutes, regulations, licenses and permits
• Prepares summary reports on regulatory status, and follows up on issues relating to HSE issues and permit and regulatory filings.
• Other functions include HSE operational field inspections , coordination of HSE field operations training, active participation in required emergency preparedness drills and providing Safety & Environmental Management System leadership.

Qualifications and experience

• B.S. degree in HSE or a related discipline with a minimum of 10 years of experience; or H.S. diploma/Associate Degree/ technical training along with a minimum of 15 years progressive experience in either safety, environmental or regulatory.
• Extensive knowledge of BSEE, LDEQ, EPA, USCG, and COE regulations and practices is required.
• Must be able to work and travel offshore without prior notice.
