Stellar Recruitment is partnered with a privately-held oil and gas company with significance in onshore unconventional resource projects consisting of tight gas sands, gas shales and coalbed methane. Due to having recently received a private-equity funding to develop Marcellus Shale assets, they are growing their technical team and are recruiting a Sr. Geologist.

THE POSITION & QUALIFICATIONS
As the Sr. Geologist, reporting to the Geoscience Manager, you handle complex geological assignments to identify drillable prospects. Other duties include:

Your other responsibilities will include:

• Work on both new prospect generation and established play development
• Utilize geological data to evaluate viability of drilling locations
• Interpret data to determine subsurface geology and economic viability
• Develop geological models of the geological structure and rock characteristics
• Produce and present geological maps and reports
• Plan location and trajectory of development wells and prepare well proposals
• Assist with annual development of exploration plans
• Travel to site to collect information from well data

Top candidates will possess:

• Bachelor's Degree in Geology, Master's Degree is a plus
• 8 years of experience working in an oil and gas geoscience capacity
• Experience with horizontal drilling and unconventional plays
• Capability with seismic interpretation and workstation use
• Proficiency with Petra and/or geological mapping software

COMPENSATION
A successful candidate will be offered a negotiable package similar to:

• $140k base, STI/LTI cash incentives, equity and benefits
