Duties & Responsibilities
Project Engineer primarily responsibilities include development and validation of equipment and machinery used in the offshore subsea oil well production business. Equipment and machinery includes electrical, pneumatic and hydraulic systems, piping and controls, and components such as pipeline terminations, control umbilical connection components, and specialty subsea products.
Position requires participation in a "Field Orientation Program" to familiarize employee with operational practices and equipment. This may require overseas and/or offshore travel.
Performs day to day calculations on rental equipment and systems. Makes modifications to hydraulic, electrical, and pneumatic logic. Reviews product design for compliance with engineering principles, applicable standards (ISO, API, and ANSI), contract requirements and related specifications. Ensures all designs are of compatible materials and components taking into consideration environmental requirements. Evaluates and approves design changes, specifications, and drawing releases. Manages multiple engineering and CapEx projects.
Qualifications
Bachelor's degree (BS) in Engineering - structural, civil or subsea engineering preferred. Must hold/maintain a valid passport and be willing to travel. Requires zero (0) to three years related experience or training.
To perform this job successfully, an individual should have excellent working knowledge of Microsoft Word, Excel, Project and PowerPoint. They should also be able to learn and navigate in PeopleSoft or similar enterprise management software, AutoCAD®, SolidWorks, Product Lifecycle Management (PLM) and Customer Relationship Management (CRM) software.
