SAGD Geologist

A Geomodeller is being sought by an Oil Sands Owner/Operator for there SAGD development project. Hays Oil & Gas is pleased to partner with our client as they bring they finalize construction on their facility and bring their asset up to production. As a Geomodeller you will have the opportunity to provide expert insight towards development of SAGD-pair horizontal drilling programs.

As the successful Geomodeller you will have an undergraduate degree in Geology (or related field) and 10 years of experience in industry along with the eligibility to register with APEGA as a P.Eng. Proven office-based geology, geomodelling and geostatistical experience are assets and preference will be given to candidates with backgrounds in carbonate / oil sands. Your technical proficiency needs to include a working knowledge of GoCad, Petrel, Petra and Geoscout software.

In the Geomodeller position you will plan and execute detailed asset evaluations including local and regional mapping, picking and correlating tops, creation of cross sections and poster montages. You will also plan and execute vertical delineation and horizontal SAGD well drilling programs. This is an excellent opportunity to work on a newly constructed in-situ thermal development.
