Technical Services Manager

The purpose of this position is to direct the efforts of the Technical Services Department in support of Plant Operations, Maintenance, and Planning & Product Control to maximize profits through optimization of existing facilities and application of new technology and hardware.
 

• Supervise engineers, provide coaching and performance evaluation, and prioritize work.
• Evaluate plant operating data through monitoring and feedback to staff and planning groups.
• Evaluate technical data/analysis/reports, and evaluate consultant work.
• Evaluate and develop capital projects and assist in development of Strategic Plan.
• Provide professional development and training for engineers.
• Evaluate applicability of new technology.
• Assist with business development, including evaluating/considering markets for products and alternate feed opportunities.
• Encourage and assist the development and maintenance of a culture that contributes to safe behavior in the refinery and Tech Services group.
• Provide guidance and participate in development and application of sound and safe engineering practices and procedures.

Qualifications
BS in Chemical Engineering required. Minimum of 10 years of directly related experience required. Supervisory experience preferred. Refinery Technical Services experience is preferred. Must be able to work with various refinery departments to achieve strategic plans and complete projects, while respecting their point of view
