Lead Electrical & Instrumentation Designer

Lead Electrical Instrumentation Designer Drafting CAD Concept Specification Subsea

*Use/review/VERIFY Instrumentation Block Diagrams
*Verify ALL inline and remote instruments on the P&ID's were shown on above instrument block diagrams.
*Use/review/VERIFY Instrument Location plans
*Review Data Sheets for instruments to verify if THE DATA SHEETS are correct for the application
*Verify installation, tagging, & location of each instrument
*Review vendor Data and drawings sent in for approval
*Review and markup Cable schedule (using Company forms in Excel)
*Use/review/VERIFY Cable Tray fill report (spread sheet) and tray sizing
*Help designers create drawings for Instrument mounting stands or rack layouts with Bill of Materials
*Help designers create Grounding
*Review and markup wiring, Interconnection, and termination Diagrams
*Use/review/VERIFY I/O list and Instrument index
*Help Write control narratives for controls systems to be programmed
*Use/review/VERIFY vendor data or drawings of Junction box drawings and wiring diagram

Prepares detail drawings. Determines most appropriate views, detail drawings and supplementary information needed to complete assignments. Draws various views including complex plan and elevations, sections and details of part / structures with complete dimensional data for engineering, manufacturing, fabrication or assembly purposes.
Reviews own work and typically reviews work of less experienced drafting team members to ensure comprehensive dimensional data for engineering or fabrication purposes. Reviews for accuracy, completeness, and conformance to drafting, applicable design, component weights and system standards. Creates final sales or sequence drawings as directed. Prepares and processes Engineering Change Notices according to procedure.
Modifies existing drawings and modifies required system documentation. Calculates dimensional tolerance requirements to ensure proper assembly fit according to design requirements defined by Engineers. Prepares CAD assembly drawings to verify adequate assembly fit and function. May compile and analyze data, compute quantities, determine materials needed, and prepare cost estimates. Frequently assists others in the resolution of more complex problems and technical issues and reviews work of less experienced staff. Frequently confers with Engineering or sales to understand design specifications. Frequently assists others with problem resolution or technical assistance. Regular contact within department to obtain or furnish information and resolve details not completely defined. Some contact outside department to clarify drawings, fit, assembly, test results, etc. Works within team environment to solve issues.

Engineering degree or Technical trade school training or equivalent experience in mechanical drafting Must have ability to accurately perform arithmetic computations using standard formulae - Technical trade school training or equivalent experience in mechanical drafting preferred - Able to prepare two-dimensional engineering detail drawings from sketch or design sheet per established procedures and using knowledge of standard drafting techniques in assigned discipline.
At least seven years progressive experience in a CAD drafting environment - Demonstrated proficiency with Auto CAD - At least two years internal or similar product / industry experience. Demonstrate capability of conceptualizing designs - Consistently demonstrates drafting / design skills and ability to accurately prepare moderately complex CAD detail and assembly drawings, preliminary sketches and/or schematic diagrams in a timely manner - Demonstrate ability to pay close attention to details, and present good planning, organization, and time management skills that require only intermittent supervision.
