Job Description:

Provide a broad range of support to the Denver division of EOG NEPA projects located throughout a seven western state operational area. NEPA support will include a range of activities including, but not limited to: review of and/or oversight of contractor development of environmental impact statements (EIS), development of environmental assessments (EA), categorical exclusions (CX), determination of NEPA adequacy (DNAs), and other related NEPA requirements. This position will also review and comment on federal land use planning documents such as Land and Resource Management Plans (LRMPs), Resource Management Plans, and other similar documents. Also provide oversight of biological surveys, cultural resource surveys, Threatened and endangered surveys, onsites, and other permit related activities. This position will interact with all groups within the Denver office including operations (permitting, drilling, completions, production), geology and geophysics, engineering, and land. The position will also require interaction with local, state, and federal agencies pertaining to issues important to operations. There will also be interaction with local, state, and federal politicians in a government affairs capacity.


A minimum of 10 years experience with demonstrated increasing responsibility for NEPA document development.  A basic knowledge of oil and gas operations is required.  Bachelors degree in a natural science field (biology, geology, archeology, botany, etc.), environmental science, engineering, or similar field required.  Masters degree in a natural science field, environmental science, engineering, law, or similar field preferred.  Excellent written and verbal communication skills are required.  Must be able to work in a team environment.  Must be able to work on multiple projects with multiple deadlines.  Working knowledge of NEPA legal and functional requirements.
