Description:

The Senior Process Engineer is responsible for providing process engineering and operations expertise during Pre-Appraise, Appraise and Select.

  • Process engineering evaluation and design for pre-appraise and appraise phases of conceptual engineering
  • Provide basic process engineering work skills and work products such as hydraulic analysis, process simulation, process selection and sizing (eg. PFDs, H&M balances, equipment datasheets,...)
  • Process safety reviews, risk assessments and action item resolution plans to mitigate safety hazards and reduce operational risks
  • Technical guidance and support to onsite field engineers regarding process debottlenecking, process optimization and troubleshooting


ACCOUNTABILITIES: The duties and responsibilities for this role include working very closely with the project lead and include but not limited to the following:

  • Integrate well within a cross functional team
  • Communicate/support other company teams working on resource pull through projects on the slope
  • Facilitate the development and completion of Terms of Reference (TOR) and/or Statement of Requirements (SOR)
  • Identify, provide solutions to risks associated with a project, develop risk mitigation plans and see them through to incorporation into studies or into execution plans
  • Coordinate, enable and/or lead the smooth workings of Engineering Contractor(s) and company Operations team especially when on the slope.
  • Review, provide comments, support and or lead Engineering Contractor's
    • Scope of work
    • Project Execution Plan (PEP)
    • Intermediate work product
    • Coordination with various company teams, especially on the slope
    • Communication with and between various operating functions on the slope
    • Process Design
    • Operating Parameters results
    • Recommendations
  • Develop Review, comment, support and or lead:
    • HSSE Plan(s)
    • Process Safety Reviews
  • Coordinate key information transfer between various groups, especially operations and engineering contractor
  • Participate in regular risk management reviews to identify and / or modifying additional or existing risks;
  • Provide input to capture lessons learned and enter them into the knowledge management / empirical databases / shared learning system at the conclusion of each stage.
  • Develop an Appraisal plan that defines alternatives to be evaluated in Select Stage
  • Support VIPs led by a facilitator
  • Review Cost estimate and Schedule for next stage and entire project
  • Support/lead development and completion of Decision Support Package (DSP)
    • Develop deliverables as required;
  • Support development of FMs and associated management packages
  • Ensure appropriate planning, systems and tools are implemented during various stages of the project
  • Review and endorse the integrated master control schedule for next stage and entire project
  • Support and lead components of the handover package to fully inform Define Execute (D/E) Team of their accountabilities.
  • Provide input to capture lessons learned and enter them into the knowledge management / empirical databases / shared learning system at the conclusion of each stage.


REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS: To be considered for this role, applicants must have the following qualifications:

  • 20+ years of experience in Oil and Gas Industry with a minimum of 10 years of slope experience with a minimum of 5 years operating experience with a processing facility on the Slope
  • Engineering Degree, preferably in Chemistry or Chemical Engineering
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
  • Self-motivated with the ability to influence across various disciplines.
  • Candidate must have a good understanding of Quality Management Principles and familiarity with company's OMS / MPcp / Segment Practices.


PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS:
Intimate knowledge of company facilities on the North Slope and company's various internal processes.

LANGUAGES: English fluency required.
